  • Bio: The story of two communities in South Sulawesi, Indonesia, both fighting for the right to manage their forest. The first community, in the village of Semanki, are fighting against the constraints imposed by the establishment of a national park. The second, in Labbo, are making the most of their 'extraordinary opportunity' to set up one of Indonesia's first 'village forests', and exercise that promises to make not just their livelihoods, but also the future of their forest much more secure. This inspiring and award-wining film demonstrates how people will protect and preserve their forests when they are empowered and taught to do so in a manner that benefits all in their communities.

Humble Film” GREEN Walks off With Top Honours at GREEN SCREEN


A haunting film from France, GREEN, that jury members deemed “unforgettable” walked off with the Best of the Festival Award at the first Green Screen International Film Festival in West Vancouver Tuesday. The film also took top prize in the Best Long Form Documentary category.
